We're getting married

Our Story

Love

Our first interaction was just a few weeks after Maggie moved to the SF Bay Area in the fall of 2013. Everyone was standing around after church when Isaac approached Maggie to strike up conversation about the old band t-shirt she was wearing. This didn’t go as smoothly as hoped, since Maggie hadn’t actually listened to that band since high school and really had nothing to say. Thankfully, that was not the only time that circumstances brought them together. Maggie began volunteering on the tech team at church, and guess who was her instructor on how to operate the cameras? Isaac.

We quickly found ourselves a part of the same social circle at church, and as a few months went by found ourselves interested in one another. Maggie was at a loss for what to do, but thankfully Isaac took the initiative and asked her out for coffee. At which point we both learned that neither of us like coffee but, thankfully, agree on our love for tea. On the follow up meeting at a local bubble tea shop Isaac confessed he hoped that Maggie could be more than another tech team friend. After a few initial dates, we decided that we were in fact attracted to each other and might even be compatible, and the relationship began!

Seasons and vacations and relationship milestones passed by, and we found ourselves not only still together, but very much in love. Spring and summer of 2015 we tackled the question of “Do we want to get married?” After many discussions, being mentored by the wonderful Tami and Tom (who will be our officiant!) from our church, and trips to visit our families, the answer shaped itself into an excited Yes! With the blessings from both our families and after many hours of Isaac driving to and from San Jose for ring shopping, Isaac popped the question!

November 7, 2015 -- Maggie knows that the proposal is coming at some point in the next few weeks, but otherwise she’s in the dark about it all. We spend the day exploring SF, hiking around and finding cool spots, as we love to do. As the sun is setting, Maggie realizes that we are approaching our favorite hilltop park in SF, and she begins to suspect that something might be happening. As we stood in the park, gazing out over the bay, Isaac took Maggie’s hands, professed his love and joy in our relationship (admittedly, neither of us remember what he actually said. but it was definitely wonderful and romantic), and pulled a beautiful ring out of his pocket. After some joyful freaking out and taking pictures, Isaac revealed that not only had he made reservations at a fantastic restaurant, but he had sneakily stolen some of Maggie’s fancy clothes the previous week so that she would have a nice outfit to wear to dinner! Needless to say, Maggie was stunned and incredibly impressed, especially when she discovered that he has actually put together a very nice outfit. Dinner was wonderful, full of delicious food and a perfect way to end an incredible day.

And now, here we are! Wedding planning and looking excitedly into our future together!
